Day 114 (5q14.3-5q15): an uncharacterized Kazusa gene, KIAA0825

Day 114 has 17 protein-coding genes (browser view), including KIAA0825.

While most genes get their names from the HUGO Gene Nomenclature Committee, some retain a catalog number from a project that started in 1994, predating the completion of the human genome: the Kazusa DNA Research Institute project to sequence the genes of large proteins. Many have been renamed, but those with little evidence for function retain their KIAA number.

KIAA0825 is found across bony vertebrates.
