Day 230 has 30 protein-coding genes (browser view), but today we’ll look at another repetitive element, the¬†Alu¬†element.

Alu elements make up 11% of human DNA – far more than the proportion that is protein-coding genes. They are about 300 bp long and are specific to primates.
